Maximizing Your Payout
Preparation is the difference between "dirty" and "clean" pricing. Following these standards ensures your material is graded at peak market value.
Step 01: Sorting
Separate ferrous (magnetic) from non-ferrous metals. Use a handheld magnet; if it sticks, it's steel or iron. Keeping these groups apart is the first step toward top-tier pricing.
Step 02: Stripping
Remove rubber insulation, plastic fittings, wood, rubber, and non-metallic attachments. Clean copper wire fetches significantly higher rates than insulated or burnt wire.
Step 03: Grading
Bundle by grade. For example, keep 6061 aluminum extrusion separate from mixed aluminum sheet. Smaller, pure batches process faster and grade at peak market value.
Step 04: Cleaning
Wipe off heavy grease, oil, or dirt. Remove steel bolts, nails, and screws from non-ferrous items. The cleaner the load, the closer you get to clean, premium pricing.

Clean Grade Standard
What happens after drop-off
Once material reaches our yard, we re-sort it through magnetic separation and visual grading. Contaminated loads are downgraded, so cleaning before arrival is the fastest way to protect your rate.
